Anne Massey is an independent education consultant specialising in SEN. She has worked as a School Improvement Adviser in Kent where she supported Special Schools and mainstream schools to make effective provision for pupils, including those with SEN.
She has previously been a teacher, SENCO and Deputy Head in mainstream Primary Schools and is the author of ‘Provision Mapping: improving outcomes in Primary Schools’ and the soon to be published second edition ‘Provision Mapping and the SEND Code of Practice: making it work in Primary, Secondary and Special schools’.
Anne has been heavily involved in work to develop a measure of progress for the lowest attaining pupils within the new National Curriculum and has worked with Kent’s SEN team on the conversion of Statements to Education, Health and Care plans, writing documentation and delivering training.
