CLEVER HANDS ‘DEVELOPING FINE MOTOR SKILLS IN THE EARLY YEARS’

Fine motor skills are achieved when children learn to use their smaller muscles, like muscles in the hands, fingers and wrists.

Overview
Mastery of fine motor skills requires precision and coordination. This is a practical workshop that aims to provide you with ideas that you can take back to your school or setting to enhance the life skill of fine motor control.

Course Aims:

  • An understanding of the importance of fine motor skills progression for the developing child
  • To consider how play can support fine and gross motor skills and how planned provision can support that
  • Provide lots of stimulating activities and ideas to take away that can be used in planned adult led sessions.
